Castelauro was born from the desire to bottle stories. We honor our roots, our family heritage and the art of careful crafting. Our liquors are not simply drinks, but a tribute to those who preceded us and to the lands that inspire our essence.

Castelauro is the name given to the natives of Castilla de Oro (Panama in the 16th century). They were the pillar that helped to raise our isthmus during the colonial period, enduring every hardship of their time.

1Selection of ingredients
We select Panamanian sugarcane grown in the fertile soils of Soná, harvested at its optimal point to obtain high-quality virgin honey, an essential base for the fermentation process.

2Traditional Fermentation
We use selected yeasts for a controlled fermentation process, designed to develop unique and complex aromatic profiles that enrich the character of the rum from its earliest stages of production.

3Artisanal distillation
Our master distiller oversees each step of the process, skillfully selecting only the purest and most refined part of the spirit to ensure exceptional quality and character in every drop of our rum.

4Aging
Our rums mature in a variety of casks, including American oak barrels ex-bourbon and ex-tequila, as well as French oak casks previously used for Napa Valley red wine. Each combination brings subtle color tones and aromatic complexity, shaping the character of every unique expression.
