Sazerac de Ron Salgado

A bold and aromatic twist on the New Orleans classic.

🍸 Ingredients

  • 🥃 60 ml of EL GALANTE SALGADO rum
  • 🌿 15 ml of absinthe or pastis (to rinse the glass)
  • 🍬 1 sugar cube or 🍯 1 teaspoon of simple syrup
  • 🍷 2–3 dashes of Peychaud’s bitters
  • 🍋 Lemon peel (for squeezing and garnish)
  • 🧊 Ice

🥃 Cocktail Preparation

1️⃣ In an old fashioned glass 🥃, place the sugar cube 🧊 (or simple syrup 🍯) and Peychaud’s bitters 🍷.

2️⃣ Add a splash of water 💧 (if using a sugar cube) and gently muddle 🥄 to dissolve the sugar.

3️⃣ Fill another old fashioned glass with ice 🧊 and pour in the absinthe or pastis 🌿.
Then, swirl the glass 🔄 to coat the inner walls and discard the liquid 🚫.

4️⃣ In the first glass, add the rum 🏝️ and more ice 🧊.

5️⃣ Stir well with a bar spoon 🌀 until well chilled ❄️.

6️⃣ Strain the contents of the first glass into the absinthe-rinsed glass 🍸.

7️⃣ Squeeze the lemon peel 🍋 over the cocktail to release its aromatic oils ✨
then discard the peel (do not drop it into the glass) 🚮.
